Remove Yourself From Facebook Search Results
My
mom is a teacher and one of the first things she asked me when she
joined Facebook is how she could make sure her students couldn’t see
that she was on the site. Understandably my mom doesn’t want her middle
school students to know what she’s up to in her personal life. There
are numerous reasons that individuals don’t want their information to
show up in search results on Facebook, and it’s simple to turn off your
public visibility.
How to Remove Yourself From Facebook Search Results
Now that you’ve decided that you would like to remove yourself from Facebook’s search results, here’s how to do it:
Now that you’ve decided that you would like to remove yourself from Facebook’s search results, here’s how to do it:
- Visit your search privacy settings page
- Under “Search Visibility” select “Only Friends” (Remember, doing so will remove you from Facebook search results, so make sure you want to be removed totally. Otherwise, you can select another group, such as “My Networks and Friends” which I believe is the default.)
- Click “Save Changes”
By
default, Facebook makes your presence visible to the network you are
in. Frequently, people aren’t aware of their visibility, so this is one
of the first settings that users wish to modify. By selecting
“Customize” from the search visibility drop down you can make your
settings even more granular.
Who Unfriended Me On Facebook
Who unfriended me on Facebook you ask? A friend of mine wanted to
know the same thing, problem was, she had over 500 people on her friends
list which meant she would have had to go through all of them
individually, even then she would have had to remember who was all in
there on the first place. Not an easy task!

I am going to tell you the easiest way to find out who has removed you from their friends list, but before I do, it’s worth mentioning that you should stay away from the apps on facebook that claim to notify you when someone unfriends you. They’re against Facebook’s privicy policy, so the ones that do work (if any) are quickly removed. The rest are purely there to steal your personal information and your friends list, it’s part of a “black-hat” marketing technique.
A great way of finding out who unfriended you on facebook is Unfriend Finder. It’s a browser add-on that will notify you when someone removes you from their friends list, just like the notifications you get when someone sends you a message or adds you as a friend. It will also notify you if someone is ignoring your friend request. Read on to find out how to use it.
**NOTE**: If you somehow have any trouble with this, or if you’re a Safari user, you can read my other post about the Social Fixer browser extension called It tells you who unfriended you in much the same way as Unfriend Finder, but it adds other features and enhancements to Facebook. If you’re not interested in social fixer, keep reading…
FireFox users will need to install and add-on called GreaseMonkey, go to step 2.
Google Chrome users like me can go to step 3.

Who Unfriended Me – Step 1
If you’re not already using Google Chrome or FireFox, you should download one of them, both are today’s leading web browsers.FireFox users will need to install and add-on called GreaseMonkey, go to step 2.
Google Chrome users like me can go to step 3.
Who Unfriended Me – Step 2
In order to use the Unfriend Finder script in Firefox, you’ll need to install GreaseMonkey which is an add-on for Firefox. You can get it from the Mozilla add-on page. Simply click the Download Now button, then Install. That’s it, GreaseMonkey is now installed.Who Unfriended Me – Step 3
The final step is to install the Unfriend Finder script, head over to UserScripts. Simply click the green Install button at the top right-hand corner. A box will then pop up, just click Install, that’s it. The next time you visit Facebook you’ll see a little button up top called Unfriends, as shown in the picture bellow.
How To Change Your Facebook Fan Page Name
Did you make a mistake with naming your Facebook Fan Page?
Normally you can only change the name of your Facebook Fan Page if you have under 100 likes, Click Here but if you already have over 100 likes for your page there is there is a work-around.
You can now change your Facebook Page Name, BUT A WARNING: don’t make a mistake, Facebook will only give you one chance!
When you go to the link it will ask for your current page name and then your Desired Page name, so make sure you get it right!
You have a choice of reasons for name change, if its because your business name has changed they will ask you for documentation which is a bit of a run around so it might be best to say missspelt or other….this is what I got back when I changed mine.
“Hi,
We may be able to assist you with this request. In order to update your Page name, please make sure to provide the following information:
If you selected, “My Page name has changed,” please make sure that you have attached documentation showing your new business name as well as its address. An example of this is a utility or phone bill.
If you selected, “My Page name is misspelled,” sit tight and we will get to your request as soon as possible.
Please note these changes may take up to 3 days to process. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks,
The Facebook Team”
And yes it took 3 days to change. I had initially had a long Page name and wanted to change it to something shorter.
10 Useful Facebook Timeline Tips and Tricks
I have seen both users who like and dislike the Timeline, I am in favor of it for the most part and it tend to bring a fresh new look to Facebook. Here are 10 useful tips and tricks:

Facebook’s mysterious algorithm decides which stories will showcase on your Timeline.
However, it also includes half-hidden posts. Posts that are marked on your Timeline, but not displayed, are noted by a blue dot on the central line. You can view these posts by clicking on the individual blue dots.
A quicker method is to click on the three blue dots underneath each year. This gives you the option to view all stories within that year.

When you see a post you’d like to nix, just hit the pencil icon at the top of the post and select “Hide from Timeline.” This doesn’t delete the content from your account, but it will keep it safe from prying eyes.
