Identify Fake Profiles On Facebook

I have been receiving a lot of add-requests on Facebook , from profiles that appear to be fake. Of course, you can identify them first by looking at the profile pic, which in most cases is a bit too bold. Then, the profiles mostly have friends of one particular gender, either all males or all females and not much information of their profile info page. Here’s a little trick to identify fake Facebook profiles using Google Search by Image feature:
Log-in to Facebook using your account and go to the profile page of the suspected person. In my case, I received friend request from someone

Now, Google will search for the image over the web and find relevant links to that image. If the Facebook Profile is fake, you will see malicious links in the search results, just the way I saw for Alisha Singh name fake profile. You can see the search results in the image below:

That’s it! We just saved you from Facebook Fake Profiles. Please leave your valuable feedback via the comments

Keep Your Friendships Private on Facebook

Hide !Your Name From Facebook

You may decide you would rather use Facebook to comunicate with just a few close family members and friends. You perhaps don’t use Facebook very often but its a great way to stay in touch. However….you DON’T want some old boyfriend or girlfriend from high school looking you up, asking to friend you, and then you having to awkwardly refuse, as you really don’t want your weekend exploits to reach that far, and really… you NEVER want to talk with him/her again….ok! so he/she dumped you for your best friend….WE GET IT!
Or maybe you have younger teens, who use Facebook to connect with relatives and a few family friends they don’t see very often, and again you don’t really want your kids to be advertised all over Facebook….how do you hide your name on Facebook?
There is a little known, and hidden… in a weird place…(yup thats facebook!) box you can untick which hides your name from being able to be searched and found on Facebook. Be sure, as a precaution, to have “Friends Only” or “Me Only” ticked for every other option on your privacy settings first.
Go down the bottom of your privacy settings (under Account top right of your F.B page) page to “Apps and Web” click to open.

Then un-tick “Enable Public Search” and close

You should now be hidden from a public search from anyone that is not listed and approved as your friend on Facebook!
Why is this so hard to find? well I guess its not conducive to the way Facebook wants to run things. They want you to be FOUND! but you do have the option to use the service in the way you wish to and privately. I hope you found this useful

Who Blocked Me On Facebook….?

Maybe you’ve had a falling-out or something and you’re wondering who it could be… To find out who blocked you on Facebook, carry on reading the rest of this article. If you want find out who removed you from their friends list, check out my other post
Here are some ways to find out who blocked you on Facebook, if you’ve got the patience and the will to do some cyber-detective work.
Search for them while you’re logged in. If you search for them while you’re logged in, if you can find them, then you can be certain that you’ve not been blocked. (You’re able to see someone in the search results if they’ve blocked you) If it turns out you can’t find them, then that might mean you’ve blocked.
Don’t bother searching for this person while logged into a different account. If you find them through that account and not through yours, it could be for various reasons:
  • If the account you use to search for the person isn’t friends with the person, or a friend of a friend of the person you’re searching for, it is just like searching for them while you’re logged out, which I’ll cover in the next step.
  • If the account you’re using is friends, or a friend of a friend of that person, and you find them through that account but not through yours, it might just mean that they have their privacy settings set up so they can only be found by certain people (like friends, or friends of friends). It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve been blocked.
  • If you’re able to look through one of their friend’s friend list while you’re logged into a any other account, an you see them, but not on your own account, there’s a good chance they’ve blocked you.
Search for them while you’re logged out. If you can find while you’re logged out, but not when you’re logged in, it means that they can be searched by everyone except you. That means you’ve been blocked! Note: You can also search on Google by typing the persons name followed by “Facebook”.
Can’t find the person at all? Consider alternative reasons. If the person who you think has blocked you has been temporarily suspended for breaching Facebook’s terms and conditions, that might be the reason you can’t see them. It might also be that their profile has been deactivated or deleted.
Did you get a message from them lately? If you’ve been blocked, they wont get your messages at all. So if they do reply to a message you’ve sent, that means you’re not blocked. Also, if you have message in your inbox from them, you should be able to visit their profile by clicking their name. If you can’t, that means they’ve blocked you, or that their account has been suspended, deactivated or deleted.
By now you should know whether a person has blocked you on Facebook or not. If you found this useful, please Like or Tweet!
